Boys and Girls Track Teams Defeat the Braves

The boys and girls track teams saw success on last Tuesday’s meet against the Iroquois Braves.  It may have been cold outside, but the Pickers were on fire.  The girls won with a score of 108-30, taking first in several events.  Rhyan Rutkowski won both the 100 and 200 meter sprints.  Vera Kaizer finished the 400 meter run in first place with a time of 1:08.37.  Ashley Hartner crossed the finish line first in the 800 meter run in 2:36.46.  Also winning on the track was Abby Malesiewski who secured wins in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles events.  The girls also swept all three relays.  The ladies saw success in throwing and jumping events well.  Elliott Miller won the discus event with a throw of 90-8 and Haven Dobson won the shot put with a 26-2.5 foot throw.  Lainey Labruzo jumped a height of 9-6 to secure a win in pole vaulting and Ava Bailey had winning jumps for both the long jump and triple jump.  Mariah Rodemoyer had an exciting evening breaking her own high jump record with a height of 5-6.  Congratulations Mariah!

The boys  saw great success in several events.  They defeated the Braves 121-28.  Mikael Banaag won both the 100 and 200 meter dashes.  Landen Greishaw crossed the finish line first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:11.85.  Jacob Sank secured a win in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:04.24.  Isaac McGuigan took on both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles and finished first in both events.  The boys relay teams placed first in both the 4×1  and the 4×8 relays.  The  boys team won all three jumping events with Jacob Lewis winning the triple jump (37-11.50), Carter Crozier winning the long jump (19-11), and Mason Karash winning the high jump (5-11).  They also swept the throwing events, placing first in all events.  Liam Jones won the shotput (45-2), Will Vanderweele won the javelin (133-9), and Malachi Huber won the discus (98-1).  Rounding out the first place winners was Mason Probst in the pole vault with a jump of 12-6.
