“All good things must come to an end” would be a fitting statement to the post season play of the boys soccer and girls volleyball teams.  The boys soccer team exited the playoffs with a 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Fairview Tigers in the semi-final round of D10 play. The team had rattled off two wins versus Seneca and Girard to enter the semi-final game. Early scoring by Fairview proved to be a roadblock for the Pickers and the lone goal by Brandon Foster came after the Tigers had built a 5-0 lead. The Pickers ended the season at 8-7-2 and shared the region title with Titusville. The team is coached by Brian Kramer, Tom Cummings and Dave Wedzik. The volleyball team opened their post season play with a first round bye. The Picker girls defeated Lakeview before losing in the semi-final round to the Corry Beavers. The Beavers are ranked in the top five in the state and proved too much for a injury ridden team. The Lady Pickers finish the season at 9-7 and were coached by Sherry Elchynski, Catherine Moyer, and Bob and Amy North. Congratulations to both teams for their outstanding seasons.
